We recently completed a brand new website for an initiative focused on keeping lead out of water, the Coalition for a Public Conversation on Lead.
We put together a simple, attractive WordPress website using the Divi theme from Elegant Themes. We really like Divi for its flexibility and ease of use, particularly for end users, who don’t have to learn a lot of code to edit their website.
The website is mobile friendly (responsive) and easy to navigate, so users can find what they are looking for quickly. The Coalition had many videos to show and so these are embedded on the site for easy access. In most instances, as here, it’s desirable to post videos on a video hosting service like YouTube and then embed them on the website, rather than host them at your website host. The reason is twofold. Video is major bandwidth hog, and so if the videos are self-hosted they can slow the site down. Additionally, YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world. Hosting video on YouTube gives you another opportunity to be found online.
The Coalition chose GoatCloud to be its website host. As well, we offer the Coalition our managed WordPress services, ensuring that site software stays current, the site is backed up, and the security and performance are monitored.
