Tired of Running Your WordPress Practice?
Let's talk about leaving your customers in capable hands.Thinking about winding down your web business?
You’ve built something. Let’s make sure it lands somewhere good.
If you’ve spent years building a book of WordPress clients, hosting accounts, or web maintenance relationships — and you’re starting to think about stepping back — you probably have a few worries. What happens to your clients? Do they just scatter? Does everything you built just disappear?
It doesn’t have to work that way.
My name is Cliff Rohde. I’ve been running GoatCloud since 2013, working with small businesses on WordPress websites, hosting, maintenance, SEO, and Google Ads. I take good care of clients. Most of mine have been with me for years.
I’m quietly looking to take on clients from web developers and small agencies who are winding down or stepping back. Not through a broker, not through a complicated process, but just a direct conversation between two people who both want the same thing: your clients to be in good hands.
What this looks like in practice
You introduce me to your clients. You tell them I’m taking over and that you trust me. That warm handoff is everything. It’s what makes clients feel comfortable rather than abandoned. I handle everything from there.
I’m most interested in WordPress hosting and maintenance clients — the ones paying annual fees for managed hosting, updates, backups, and basic support. But I’m open to a conversation about whatever you’ve built, even if it doesn’t fit neatly into a category.
I pay fairly for what I take on. The details depend on what you have. We can talk through it without any pressure or obligation.
Is this you?
You might be retiring, slowing down, shifting careers, or just tired of the constant maintenance of running a client book. Maybe you have five clients, maybe you have fifty. Maybe your revenue is modest and you’re not sure anyone would be interested in your book of business. I would.
The alternative, just turning off the lights and letting clients figure it out themselves, means they lose continuity, potentially lose years of work, and you get nothing for what you built. That doesn’t have to be the outcome.
