InMotion Hosting Failure Jan. 6-7, 2017 - Status Updates

All times Eastern

January 7, 12:34 p.m.

  • With one exception, all managed care client production and development websites have been restored using a backup from on or about January 6, 2017 at 1:00 a.m.
  • One client developmental site remains purposely offline, owing to the number of changes made after the most current available backup, in the hope Inmotion can restore reasonably soon.
  • Changes made to the website between the time of the backup and prior to the site going down may need to be recreated on the site. It remains possible that Inmotion will restore sites as they were at the time the site went down. It is recommended that, if possible, one waits until we have more information to make additional changes to the website.

  • I am able to use a site backup to bring the impacted sites back online. Very recent changes to the site (within the last 24-36 hours) may not have been reflected in the backup. If that is the case, I might recommend that you hold off replicating the changes, or making any other change, for a bit. Inmotion is still working on their end, so they may update their system with a version more current than what I was able to backup.

  • From the input of other Twitter users (thank you especially ), I have identified a solution to fix the websites still offline. The fix must occur on a site by site basis and so should be completed for all sites over the next two hours.
