At times you will want to change the date of WordPress posts. Why might this be? Perhaps you’re importing from another blogging platform and you want to keep all the dates of the older posts. Perhaps you want to rewrite history.

Whatever the case, it’s pretty darn simple to change the date of WordPress posts. Just beware of changing your permalinks. You don’t want to end up with the dreaded 404 “page not found” error.
